Inspiration Monday-{Flower Power!}

Good Monday Morning to ya! How was your Christmas? It's hard to believe it's already over! I felt like it came and went sooooo fast! We usually go up to WA to spend Christmas with my family, but since Isaiah is in school and only has 1 1/2 weeks off, we decided to change our annual trip to WA to the summer. I guess maybe that's why it didn't feel like our "normal" Christmas. This year we got the opportunity to spend the entire day with my husband's family and of course, had a great time! Isaiah really enjoyed opening presents and playing with his cousins into the wee hours of the night!

The challenge for La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Monday this week is:

CropStop Challenge #51-Circles

Happy Thursday peeps! Well, the countdown continues....3 days left until Christmas....WOWZERS!! I've got such a busy few days ahead of me. I'm hoping to get it all done in time! Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be mailing out Christmas Cards this year. :( Maybe next year, I will start in March, haha!

The CropStop Challenge for the next 2 weeks is:

CIRCLES

Yes, that's right! We are extending this challenge for 2 weeks to give you a chance to make something, since we are all busy getting ready for the Holidays. I'm still in the Christmas Spirit so I decided to make an ornament. It will go with the card I made last week HERE (so it's a matching set).

I purchased the 2011 BH&G Holiday Crafts magazine a while back ago and LOVE the various Christmas ideas featured in this magazine!! One of the ideas was a vintage Holiday Starburst created by Lana Manis. The starburst used rolled vintage book pages to create a hanging ornament. I love the idea and it's definitely something that can be used for different holidays, not just Christmas.

Here's a picture of my paper Starburst. I found an old paper back book in the garage for my project. I cut a total of 32 rectangles and distressed the edges with Old Paper and Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I cut the circles behind my images using my Creative Memories Circle Cutter. The blue ribbon came from my stash and I used my Bow Easy to make the double-loop bow!

I embossed the middle panel with my new embossing folder from Couture Creations called Renaissance, World Fair Collection. It's AMAZING!! I rubbed Walnut Stain Distress Ink over the top of the embossed areas to bring it out more. Then I adhered my circle to the middle of the ornament with Scor-Tape.

Here's a close-up of the embossing....the detail is awesome! I used these super-cute mini Magnolia stamps, Kissing Tilda Sitting & Kissing Edwin Sitting. I stamped them with Memento Rich Cocoa, colored them with Copics, and added Stardust Stickles. They are raised up on pop-dots. Kinda reminds me of New Years, huh?! Now I gotta go make a New Years card with these same elements!!

You can see the rolled squares a little better in the picture below. It's takes a little practice to get them to roll correctly, but once you get it down they come together pretty quickly. I also used a mini-stapler to staple the bottom together when forming my cones. It's definitely faster than waiting for glue to dry on each one. :)

Now don't forget you have 2 weeks (instead of 1) to enter this Challenge! I hope to see a bunch of y'all linking up your cards/projects.

I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a year full of many blessings!! I appreciate each and every one of you who are followers and also those who stop by to leave comments! I've made a lot of wonderful friends through blogging and you all have enriched my life! Thank you all so much for being so supportive and AWESOME!!

Many hugs!
Rosie :)

CropStop Challenge #50-Christmas in Non-Traditional Colors

Happy Thursday y'all! How's your week been going so far? Are you ready for Christmas (ya know it's next weekend, right?!?!)? I'm not ready!!! I feel like I still have so much to do! I still haven't even put up all the decorations yet, LOL! Not to mention all the birthdays this month. Did I tell ya my birthday was yesterday?? You'll want to scroll to the end of this post because I've got some Birthday CANDY to give away!! :)

I've got lots to do still, so let's get on with it! The challenge this week at CropStop is to make a Christmas card using non-traditional colors.

I kinda made my card look like a present. I love that gorgeous blue, silk ribbon and this was the perfect way to showcase it. I think it came from Michaels. I used my Bow-Easy to tie my perfect double loop bow...it makes it so easy!! My dps came from My Mind's Eye Winter Wonderland....very cute non-traditional colored paper. :)

I used my Spellbinder Labels 18 to cut out my new CTMH sentiment stamp. The stamp set is called Christmas Love (D1492) and it's AWESOME! You can order CTMH supplies from ME and I'll have it shipped to your door. :)

I stamped the present part of the stamp separately in blue and then added Stardust Stickles to the top. After I cleaned the stamp, I inked up the rest of the sentiment in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with Rose embossing powder from Zing. To bring the pink out more, I rubbed Antique Linen and Walnut Stain Distress Ink over the top of the white paper. Stardust Stickles were added to the outside white edge also.

My flowers are from WOC and Recollections. The pearl/rhinestone swirls and gold pearls in the corners are also from Recollections. I raised the sentiment up on pop-dots for added dimension. The entire card was put together with Scor-Tape (its the strongest and best easy-to-use adhesive on the market)!!

This may be one of the first cards I've made without a LLLC or Magnolia image on it, LOL!

Now for the BIRTHDAY CANDY!
Here's what's included:
Magnolia Ink Magazine No.3 2011
Magnolia Stamp
EK Success Cocktail Glass Punch
EK Success Carnation Dimensional Flower Punch
Cuttlebug Mini Embossing/Die Set
Cuttlebug Happy Birthday Embossing Folder
Recollections Paris Stamp Set
Recollections Calendar Stamp Set
Chipboard Album
3 mini rolls of twine

To be eligible for the candy all you have to do is:
1. Be a follower of my blog
2. Post this candy on your blog sidebar
3. Leave a comment on this post

The candy will end next week, on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24th at midnight, CST. I will announce the winner on Monday, Dec. 26th! And, if you know anything about me, you know I'll be adding stuff to this blog candy as the week goes on! :) :)

That's it....EASY PEASY! Hope you have a great week and see ya back here soon!
Hugs!

Inspiration Monday-Circles

Good Morning peeps! Well, it's Monday and you know what that means right?! It's time for La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Monday...YAY!! Did you see the new Release that just came out?? If not, then you definitely want to head on over to the store HERE!! There are several new Marci and Luka stamps and even some accessories that would go great with any "sitting" image...CA-UTE, I tell ya!!

Today, our Inspiration for you is:

CIRCLES!

You can either make a circle card or incorporate circles into your design (which is the option I chose). I decided to make a Christmas card because I'm just feeling that Christmas Spirit! :) I love the Holidays!! It's my favorite time of the year....all the decorating and lights and food! It's also that time of year that we spend a lot of time with our family (we have a lot of birthdays this month, too)! It really makes me feel good to see my little boy's eyes light up when he sees all the decorations.....makes my heart happy! There is nothing like experiencing the holidays through a child's eyes. :)

For my card today, I used this CUTE Caroling Luka!
Copics & Chalk:
Skin: E000, E00, E11, chalk
Hair: E29, E33
Hat: E31, Chalk, Polar White Flower Soft
Coat/Shoes: E57, black chalk, liquid applique
Mittens: E33, Chalk
Sweater & Pockets on Coat: G28, R39, E33
Pants: E31, chalk
Wreath: G28, YG25, YG95, R39. R35
Book: C3, C5, YG25, E31, Stardust Stickles

My entire card was inspired by this AWESOME new Couture Creation World Map Embossing Folder!! I just got it in from CropStop and when I saw it, I knew I wanted to make a "Joy to the World" card!! Isn't the folder AMAZING!! This embossing folder is part of a collection called WORLD FAIR and you can see the entire collection HERE. After I embossed the World Map, I rubbed Walnut Stain Distress Ink over it to bring it out some more and then cut it into a circle.

All of my cardstock is shimmery paper from Bazzill. The tree was inspired by this card HERE. You can find a video tutorial on how to make the tree HERE using daisy flower punches. The tree got a coating of Liquid Applique, which puffs up when heated. The wood fence came from Hobby Lobby's Christmas section. It started off white, but I rubbed Distress Ink over it. I also added Liquid Applique to the top of the fence posts for snow. It's hard to see in the photos, but there is Polar White Flower Soft behind the fence so it looks like snow. :)

The music dp came from MME Lost & Found Christmas 6x6 paper pad. The bottom green scallop border is made from punched circles. After I adhered them to the bottom of the brown strip, I added Liquid Pearls to frame the border. The sentiment from CTMH was heat embossed with Stampendous Detail White on the green shimmery Bazzill cardstock and cut out with EK Success Real Estate Sign Punch. It was then layered on the white cardstock cut out with SB Labels 18. The silver/white ribbon came from Michaels.

Here are some more pictures. The large white pearls above the sentiment are CTMH.
I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Moxie Fab World - Globe Photo Inspiration
Paper Sundaes Challenge - Anything Christmas
The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop - Christmas with a Bow
Totally Gorjuss - Let It Snow
SimonSaysStampsChallenge - Photomontage Inspiration

Now don't forget you can link up your projects to the La-La Land Crafts Gallery for a chance at a monthly prize. Have a great week and see ya back here on Thursday!

CropStop Challenge #49-Music

Before I get to this week's CropStop Challenge, did you see that CropStop is having a Creative Team call?!? CropStop is looking for 2 committed team members to bring inspiration and creativity through card and layout projects.

The Creative Team call is open to all. International submissions are also welcome.
The Creative Team term is February 1, 2012 - August 1, 2012
Deadline for submission is December 31, 2011
You can view all the details HERE!

The theme for this week's challenge is
MUSIC

I had a hard time with this one. I'm so into Christmas right now and way behind on decorating. I don't even have my tree up yet....I know, I know...it's right around the corner!! My plan is to put up decorations this weekend (I hope)! Sooooo, since I'm caught up with Christmas right now, I decided to make a card based on a Christmas Song. :) :)

I remembered my great friend Chris sent me this stamp called Lovely Tilda, who is kicking up her heels....LOVE her! Then the song, Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree, popped into my head and voila.....a Music Christmas Card....YAY!! I stamped my image on X-Press It Blending Card and colored her with Copics.

Skin: E000, E00, E11
Hair: E29, E37, E33
Bow & Dress: R24, R27, R29, Stardust Stickles
Socks: R29, YG97, C3, C5, C7, Stardust Stickles

Then I found this simple and cute sketch from the Totally Gorjuss challenge this week and it was perfect for my card design! My dps came from MME Lost & Found Christmas. I used my Sizzix Bigz Christmas Tree Die to cut the tree and then embossed it with one of the folders from the Cuttlebug Plum Blossom Embossing Set. Then I added X-mas Red Stickles to the top of the diagonal lines and itty bitty CTMH pearls to the inside scallop. The star was covered with Gold Stickles and the tree vase was covered in both X-mas Red & Gold Stickles.

It's hard to tell in the photo, but I also added X-mas Red Stickles to the edge of the EK Success Real Estate Sign punch and over each letter of the song title. The gold pearls in the corners are from Recollections. The ribbon came from my stash. I used my Bow-Easy to tie my perfect double loop bow (love that thing!). I raised the tree, Tilda and the sentiment on pop-dots.

I'm entering my card in the following challenges:

Totally Gorjuss - Sketch
Just Magnolia - Anything Goes (with option of Sparkle)
Sir Stampalot Challenge - BINGO (pearls, stickles, ribbon)
The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop - Christmas with a Bow

Well folks, that's it for me! I hope you enjoyed my "music inspired" Christmas Card. I can't wait to see what you all do with this challenge. Don't forget to link up your projects for a chance at winning a CropStop gift certificate!!

Hugs!

For my card, I decided to use Marci with Snowman. I just love how she's holding a snowball in her hand with the cute snowman standing next to her...AH-DORABLE! I used the Tim Holtz Snow Flurries Border Die to cut my snowflake border and added tons of Stardust Stickles and clear rhinestones. I also used Tim Hotz Snow Flurries Texture Fade to emboss the panel behind Marci. Then I rubbed White CTMH Ink over the embossed areas to bring them out. The background paisley dp is from the Paper Studio (I think). The sentiment is from a CTMH stamp set. I made little white dots with my whit Liquid Pearls around the sentiment. The snowflake border strip behind the sentiment is from a Martha Stewart Punch and is also covered in stickles. This card is really sparkly and glittery in real life! The sheer ribbon came from my stash and I used my Bow-Easy to tie my perfect double-loop bow.

Copics:
Skin: E000, R20, chalk
Hair/Snowman Arms: E29, E37, E35
Hat/Skirt/Boots/Glove/

Next up we have:
Snowboard Luka
Snowboard Marci
Mod Marci

And finally we have ACCESSORIES for our cuties to sit on....can you say YIPPEE!!
Heart Chair
Garden Bench (sentiment included)
Suitcase Set (6 stamps)

You can view all the AMAZING creations our Design Team made using these fantastic new stamps on the La-La Land Crafts Blog.

I decided to make an Easel Card using the Heart Chair. Isn't it AWESOME?!?! I can see so many uses for this chair!! I colored the wood areas with my Copics (E29, E37, E35) and paper-pieced the rest of it with dps from the Prima 6x6 Madeline Collection Paper Pack. I did some shading with chalk on the dps and then added Glossy Accents to the buttons to give them a raised effect.

Here is the full view of my Easel Card. All the dps came from the same paper pack. The green ribbon is from American Crafts.

Here's a closeup of the top of the card. I raised the chair on pop-dots for added dimension. I kept it pretty simple because I really wanted these gorgeous dps and the chair to be the focus.

Here's the bottom of the easel card. The oval was cut out using Spellbinders Nestabilities Lacey Ovals. The letters for the word "CHAIR" were cut from one of the dps in the Prima Madeline paper pack. The rest is handwritten by me. :)

Well, I hope you all enjoy this NEW RELEASE!! I really love the accessories because I can use them to create some AWESOME scenes!! La-La Land Crafts will be releasing more accessories in the future so stay tuned! Now, head on over to the STORE and get your NEW RELEASES so you can have them before the Holidays!!

Happy Crafting!
Rosie :)

CropStop Challenge #48-Punches for the Holidays

First, I'd like to say a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my hubby!! Unfortunately, we both have to work today, but we'll do something small this evening and then have a big bash on Saturday. :)

Can you believe Christmas is just a few weeks away?!?!? I'm still trying to recover from Thanksgiving and now Christmas is knocking on my door. Don't get me wrong, I love the holidays, but man it feels like this year the holidays came up sooooo fast! I still have so much to do and let me tell ya December is a CRAZY month for us. Between family and friends, we have 9 birthdays, can you say....What in the World?!? My husband and his 3 brothers, ME, my SIL's dad, and 4 friends.....WOWZERS! My hubby and I have a running joke that we have to ask people their birthdays before we allow them into our circle of friends, LOL!

Before I get to our challenge, I wanted to remind you that CropStop is having a Creative Team Call!! The term is for Feb. 1 - Aug. 1. You have until December 31st to enter your submissions! You can view all the details HERE!

This week's CropStop Challenge is:

Use your PUNCHES for the Holidays

I LOVE punches...so much so that I have a pretty big collection of them. :) I think it's because they are soooo easy to use and just add that extra special touch! I'm kind of simple that way. I like tools that are easy and non-complicated to use (which explains why my Cricut just sits in the corner gathering dust, LOL).

I decided to pull out my new Magnolia stamp called A Little Gift Tilda. I haven't worked with my Maggies in a while so I thought this would be the perfect time! She's stamped on Neenah Solar White Cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics. Then I added lots of Gold Stickles to her wings and dress. Stardust Stickles were added to the present and her bows. I think she turned out so pretty with the gold. :)

Coloring Medium: Copics
Skin: E000, E00, E02, E11, R20
Hair: E29, E37, E33
Dress: R24, R27, R29, R89, Gold Stickles
Socks/Present: YG95, YG97, YG03, colorless blender

I used the Martha Stewart Holly Leaves Punch Around the Page set to create my card border (I don't see it in the store at the moment, but if you ask Haylie Jo she can let you know if she can get it). The bottom red paper trim was cut out using the Martha Stewart Deep Edge Skylands Snowflake punch....LOVE this design!! The dps are from My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Christmas 6x6 pad. The doily behind Tilda is stamped with my Inkadinkado Script Stamp using Memento Rich Cocoa and then I rubbed Antique Linen Distress Ink over it.

The ribbon and gold rhinestones came from my stash. Here a side view so you can see the dimension. I raised Tilda up using pop-dots.

Now, head on over to the CropStop blog and link up your Christmas creations using your PUNCHES. Don't forget to read the rules on the side-bar to make sure you meet the requirements.

Have a great week and see ya back here next week!

Big hugs to all of you!
Rosie :)
