Inspiration Monday--Love is in the Air

Happy Monday morning to ya! It's time for another La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Monday and the theme this week is:

Love is in the Air

I decided to use Heart Balloon Marci for my card today. She's so adorable and absolutely fun and easy to color up....I {heart} LLLC! I'm still working on coloring pleats....it definitely takes lots and lots of practice for sure!! I'm not quite there yet, but maybe by the summer, LOL! I do love how her hair turned out....lots of "flicking" involved on the hair. :)

Copics:
Skin: E11, E00, E000, R24, chalk
Hair: E49, E37, E33
Dress/Headbands: R22, R24, R32, Inkssentials Opaque White Pen
White areas: C3, Colorless Blender, Stardust Stickles
Balloon: YG25, YG17, Inksentials Opaque White Pen, Stardust Stickles

It's a pretty clean and simple card, but most of my cards still take me forever. I have a hard time figuring out card designs and papers. If I could just have someone come over, pick papers out and do some card layouts ahead of time for me, my card-making life would be sooooo much easier, haha! Although I'm sure lots of you wish for the same thing. :)

If I just didn't have to work full-time, but the hubby said I would just find something else to take up all my time...so true!

Additional Supplies Used:
Cardstock from Close To My Heart
White Ink Pad from Close To My Heart (rubbed over embossing)
DP from Echo Park Little Girl Collection Kit
Sentiment Sticker from 7gypsies Together Ensemble
Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts & Recollections
Candy Hearts Embossing Folder from Cuttlebug Love's in the Air Embossing Set
Martha Stewart Edge Punch-Lace Heart
Pink Pearls from my stash

Here's a side view so you can see the dimension. I raised Tilda and the sentiment on pop-dots.

Now, don't forget you can play along with all our challenges by uploading your creations to the LLLC Customer Gallery as many times as you like during the month. At the beginning of the next month LLLC will choose one of the entries to award a prize to... it could be YOU!!

Have a great week! CHA is fast approaching (this Friday I'll be flying to Cali)!! I'll try to post pictures throughout CHA for your viewing pleasure!

Hugs,
Rosie :)

CropStop & Tutorial News!

Don't forget you have until tonight (Wed., Jan. 18th) to get your card done and uploaded for CropStop's Challenge #53: You can "Quote" me on That! We want to see a quote on your project. There are lots of "quotables" to be had. Whatever you choose, be sure to give credit to the owner of the quote. Visit the RULES tab on the CropStop Blog Sidebar to be sure your entry qualifies for the gift certificate prize!

Do you have bottles of loose glitter sitting around collecting dust? I have lots of them, because frankly, I hate using them and having glitter all over the place. Check out the CropStop Blog today to see my first ever TUTORIAL on how to use Scor-Tape and Glitter to add lots of sparkle to your cards!

You'll need Scor-tape (the sheets work awesome for this technique), loose glitter, and a sharp craft knife.

Here's a picture of the top of my Easel Card using the Scor-tape/Glitter Technique. See the CropStop Blog for all the details!!

Inspiration Monday-Make a Scene

Good Monday Morning to ya! :) Now that the holidays are over, are you getting geared up for 2012?! Hard to believe we are 9 days into the New Year! So, do you know what's right around the corner, other than Valentine's Day?

CHA baby!! Yes, that's right....at the end of January will be the next Craft & Hobby Association Convention in Anaheim, California. Now's the time to get with your local scrapbook stores and let them know about La-La Land Crafts so they can scope out the new stamps at CHA and bring them to their stores!!

If you haven't been to the LLLC Store in a while, you may have missed some of the new things Irina has added. You should head on over and check out the "OTHER" section... Irina is now carrying sentiment stamps and Cheery Lynn Dies!! The other new items that I'm really loving are the DIGI SCENES....so convenient and easy to use!

So to bring us into our 2nd week of the New Year, the LLLC Challenge this week is to:

MAKE A SCENE

For my 8x8 Shadow Box, I decided to use one of the new DIGI SCENES in the LLLC Store called Heart Balloon Marci Digi Scene. I colored my scene with a combo of Copics and Chalk.

Copics & Chalk:
Skin: E000, E00, E02, E11, chalk
Lips: R20, chalk
Hair: E57, E25, E35
Dress/Hairbands: Paper-pieced & shaded with chalk, stardust stickles
Shoes: shaded with chalk, stardust stickles
Balloon: Paper-pieced
Presents: Paper-Pieced, MS Blue glitter, B02, B04, B05, YR02, YR04, YR07, stardust stickles
Garden Bench: E49, E29, E37, E33, N4, N6, N8
Bird: B02, B04, B05, G02, G14, YG17

These gorgeous papers came from the 8x8 DCWV Mariposa Stack. They are absolutely beautiful so I didn't want to cover them up very much. I cut out butterflies from some of the other dps in the same pack and added them in the corners. The butterflies in the pack have glitter on them, but I added more gold stickles. It's very sparkly in real life. I'm thinking about stamping a quote or sentiment either at the top or bottom, but not sure yet which one I want to use. :)

Here is the 8x8 page in a Shadow Box Frame I got from Walmart. I just found these cute and cheap frames at Walmart over the weekend.
I now need to go back and buy several!

Here's a side view:

Now don't forget you can play along with our LLLC Challenges all month long by uploading your creations to our Customer Gallery! And you'll definitely want to check out the LLLC Challenge Blog to see all the inspiration from my fellow DT sisters....they are AH-MAZING!

Have a great week and see back here soon!
Hugs,
Rosie :)
